Something is wrong with the pricing model

I'm a RC so while looking for possible orders to fill I have noticed that the artisan points awarded as well as the amount of Family Vault Credits needed to purchase identical items is not equal.

For example, right now there are two requests for Auroral Hardy Runes, one costing 759 points and the other 773.  The Empyrean Rage Runeshard costs are all different as well.

On that same note, why do blue augments for the various tradeskills cost more to purchase than the higher quality purple augments? For example, a blue quality Empyrean Keen augment costs 1515 points while the much better purple quality Stellar Keen augment only costs 1428.  

It is working as intended. The mp is designed to be a teat of ones wilingness to sacrifice personal gain for family needs. Theres a slight loss. Also remember its artisan + contribution = family vault credits.

Also values are based off the cost of the mats required to make. Most likely the blue uses more materials than the purple.

The longer an order has been waiting to fill, the more points it is worth. This is why some of the same items are worth different amounts.

The new Empyrean (blue) augments use different materials than the new Stellar (purple) level augments in their recipes. So the pricing comes out like it does, its really a matter of how Trion designed the recipe. I imagine this may lead to Empyrean level augments not getting ordered in favor of lower priced Stellars. However, you may find that the rarer nature of the purple salvage materials required for the Stellar augments might cause longer delay times in filling of orders for the them as opposed to the Empyrean blues.

@Sri That explains the discrepancy in points awarded. I was not aware that the longer a request was active the more points artisans gained for fulfilling the request. @Naay I hear what you are saying but it just seems counter intuitive that the materials to make blue augments would cost more than the materials to make an epic quality augment.

The blue version uses more materials and thus has a higher cost. This isn't a marketplace problem this is a Game System design problem. When and If Trion fixes it the prices will be more in line but right now the cost to make the blue is more expensive to the crafter than it is to make the Purple.

I expect there are probably also notches in the price curve regarding potions. Trion didn't make all the recipes follow a nice clean price curve.
