24/7 Extra-life stream

I wanted to know if there would be any interest in trying to stream 24/7 of the week leading up to the Extra-Life weekend? I thought that if we had enough people willing to take a shift, it would definitely be possible and completely epic. a 24/7 stream would draw alot of attention which would mean alot of potentional doners for our cause.

It is free to stream with xfire, though I know that it can be a bit laggy. You dont need a webcam or anything, but it is nice when people interact on the stream, so at least a mic. I know that Extra-life 2013 isnt untill November this year, but I wanted to get a feel if anyone would be interested so we could start organizing.

I'd be willing to have my stream going. I broadcast on twitch.tv/nidircc, but if you have another location you would like to use just let me know.

Wow, I didnt think that anyone would get back to me after so long. I dont think that we would be able to do a full week like I would like to do, but maybe we could do an epic weekend or something. Myself and Ckemikal are willing to take shifts. Maybe if some other people see interest, we can do it for a bit long. I would like to have a common channel to stream from, but I have no idea how we could even get that to happen. So as of right now, your channel is find and we can just let views know what channel to switch to. Right now it is a very rough plan, so if anyone has some ideas, I would love to hear them.

well, last year me and Grodin traded off leading in WvW for about 16 hours. We didn't stream it, but it was a blast.

I can certainly confirm that Pookha's/Grodin's WvW leadership during the ExtraLife event was freakin' awesome. The odd part about it is I generally loathe PvP/WvW, but much good, delirious fun was had (by me, at least, and I would assume by the others involved as well)! In fact, I dare say that the EL experience was what opened my eyes to the idea that WvW doesn't have to be a terrible experience for a gamer such as myself, and can be quite enjoyable. I won't be doing Extra Life this year...I think that's going to be an every-other-year fundraiser for me...but I wish everyone who participates the best!

I might be doing this. All depends on school/work, but I love streaming so I'd be happy to contribute a stream. I'm sure there's a way that we can group all the channels participating, and I like the idea of making one channel for all the folks that don't normally stream too. I've been streaming on and off for a while, so I can help anyone with setup on broadcasting that needs it.

Ok, So I set up up a twitch.tv account we can all stream to for the event. The user is GSCHEL2013. I was not really sure about the name, but we can change it if need be. Anyway if you plan on streaming please PM me and i'll give you the log in info to setup your stream client. Also Radiologikal I left the BIO and what not empty for you to fill out as you see fit.

Thanks Pookha. It would have been nice to have a team channel where all the channels were in one place, but for twitch.tv you need a certain number of viewers to make a team channel. I like the idea of having a main stream (GSCHEL2013) where someone in on constantly, but having a list of the other Gaiscioch streamers would be nice. I don't know much about coding, however it would be nice if we could get a link to the channel from the main page of Gaiscioch. I dont want to make Fog do more work than he already does. His plate is overfull, all seven of them =P Thank you all for your input, we have 5 months to get everything set up and figured out, so all your ideas are appreciated!

well, we could all just stream using our personal accounts and create a page on the GSCH site with all our streams posted there. Twitch.tv has a player you can embed, it would take no time at all to get all our streams on a single page and just post a link to them on the main page. That way any viewers could just scroll through and watch the streams they want to. As you said though that will be dependent on Fog being able to give us a page. We can just ask him though, watch this! --<(FOG CALL)>-- That ought to work. In the meantime we should start compiling a list of our streams. Mine is "Twitch.tv/nidircc"; So anyone who is even remotely interested in streaming for Extra Life 2013 please post your stream address in this thread just so we can have a record of it.
