sor/tc/sbi 1-25 through 1-31

I am looking forward to see how the dust settles this upcoming week.  I know we have recieved lots of transfers and sor as a server has not hidden this fact.  I do have a strong suspicion that TC also has recieved a huge amount of transfers but have kept that fact largely quiet.  I Think TC is going to suprise sor this upcoming week.

all and all i am looking forward to good fights this week.  i will try and run smaller groups and just snipe camps like the good old days to be a huge annoyance to TC but expect to be zerg chased if we succeed in that tactic.  Either way is a win for me :)

So what are your wvw plans this week?  join in the zergs?  Try something new?  simply defend our back lines from recap?  Remember we make our own fun.  It can be hard to find that fun at times the way things are currently but if you try it can be had :).

Balor used to have a morning group of about 10 or so people that would split into two groups and just take camps in opposing Borderlands. It was a lot of fun, sure the zergs caught us from time to time but we would get right back out there. Personally I really like storming keeps, setting up siege and major pitched battles in the open field. Haven't been on GW2 much since mid Dec though, but I expect that to change now. Hope to get in on the ClubGaiscioch runs this weekend, if I can keep myself awake.

I don't know if we will get paired with Tarnished Coast and Stormbluff Isle again. A lot of the servers that got major influxes of WvW oriented guilds are going to get thrown around in their rankings and I expect that to happen to Sanctum of Rall. We are either going to get bumped up into Tier 1 (swap with Blackgate) to go against Sea of Sorrows and Jade Quarry or we will stay in Tier 2 and fight whichever servers get bumped into that ranking bracket.

As the rankings stand to end tomorrow at reset sbi will be ahead of mag by 20 points. We will be behind bg by 30ish points. Most of the "hardcore" wvw guilds are actively managing the score to ensure we have the same bracket for next week. The only thing to take this away as i see it now would be blackgate gaining 0 points for the remainder of their match. They like t1 to much to do that though. From what i am understanding the guilds that are managing the score want another week in t2 to "iron" things out with the new guilds they actively recruited to come to sor. We will see what happens next week. I hope everybody gets along :))

Eh, I really don't care what tier we end up so long as their is an enemy force we can go smash (or in the case of Fog... portal bomb into and pull a leeroy jenkins move).

With all the influx of people and guilds to SoR, I am almost dreading to see what the queue times will be to the borderlands, especially during primetime.

LOL yea, the queues... All I have to say about those guilds inviting all the new ones over to help push us into Tier 1, is to quote an old Jeff Foxworthy joke: "When I was a kid, my parents had a 900-pound television on top of a TV tray. My dad's theory was, "Let him pull it over his head a few times, he'll learn. You wanna put a penny in a light socket? Try that out. OHH! Hurt like hell, didn't it? Don't do that no more."

LOL@Sekkerhund Queues will get worse on weekends for the sheer fact that ANZSEA daytime and US evenings overlap so Aussies and US will all be out in full force on the weekends. As we get more Oceanics, ANZSEA we will have better over night coverage but we will also have too much evening coverage over the weekends. I'm not really concerned where we end up in rankings as long as we have good fights and can retain our good community.

I don't see black gate going down in ranks, they are about to get a bunch of transfers their way, including some big guilds that are only in GW2 for Wvw. Hopefully we continue with a good match up and things even out in the end:)

/sigh I had a feeling that everyone would jump ship to the top 5-6 servers, making the whole ladder very top heavy. I really wanted to send a WvWvW match re-design proposal to ArenaNet, but its too late now, since it would require free transfers to allow everyone to spread out to various servers and even things up a bit more.

Well some of the "lower" tiers had huge bumbs in pop as well. Kain,mag, and one or two others that escape my mind at the moment. yes doing it the way they did will cause the top servers to get pop increases and create some "dead" servers. eh such is the way of the beast. Still going to have loads of fun...while i wait in queue i will just be playing the crafting market or spvp.

The problem for me, is that the toons I WvW with are not the ones that I would normally be playing for PVE. I suppose I'll just have to figure out an adjustment, its not the first time I've had to deal with hour+ long queues, but its the first time I've had to queue with 80's that I build specifically for WvW, not PVE.

Well, I'm lucky in that way Sek - I don't build toons for WvWvW - I just build toons and alternate them. I managed 8 hours of WvWvW yesterday - and it was mainly a tad boring since no one wanted to come out and play. I had more action with Spartan's group in the afternoon on my engy than at any other time. The late night was really empty so I even logged out my lvl 80 necro and brought my lvl 20 Ele - just to liven it up for me. I love to siege, to defend, and have open field fights (and each of my characters is good at different things... Engy is for siege, Necro is defender, and Ranger is open field battles) - but this weekend was mainly seeing people running away from us. I'm not sure I want to be in T1 as we've discussed before (and I agree with you), but I would like some better fights and there were too few of those this weekend.
