What to make?

By this point, I have collected a lot of stuff. I tend to hoard things, and then look to see what I can do with them. I am at that spot now, and having recently returned to the game, I am not sure what I should use the mats for. I tend to prefer things that are useful, over things that are flashy. For example, Mawdry is more appealing to me than is a legendary, because Mawdry produces loot.

I was thinking about forging some recipes, and what wondering which might be best. Omnom Berry bars seem popular, are there 2, or three others that are just as popular?

Are there any other major "useful" type items that you would suggest, or recommend?

Lemongrass Poultry Soup is lovely for WvW, and Orrian Steak Frittes are great in lots of situations. If you haven't grown Mawdrey yet definitely get on that, it's pretty affordable for an ascended back item and it's great to be able to liquidate all that dust.

The utility nourishment buffs can be really nice too (sharpening stones, maintenance oils, tuning crystals).

I agree with Llew, although Lemongrass Poultry Soup is pretty expensive to make. You can still order the components off our Marketplace with your Vault Credits if you have enough. I have also forged Peach Tarts (power + magic find) and Peach Pies (vitality per tic and +60 vitality) Mango Pies are the same but with +70 vitality and a little harder to get the mangos. I use the magic find for dungeons and the vitality for WvW.

Any ascended is going to help you, especially if you do FoTM and need the agony resistance. Mats can be used for so many things. You can even forge exotic amour recipes and donate them to the Guild for your Contributions Points or make for a fellow Guildie if there is an order for it - it goes towards your Contribution and your Artisan Points.

I find Wiki to be my best friend Cyvil for all the recipes available in the game. Happy forging:).

Any suggestions for watchwork sprockets. I am approaching 4 stacks of those, seems like it is time to do something with them.

I have looked at the wiki, there are so many choices that it gets to be overwhelming. That, and i always seem to miss one of the better choices. It seems that I tend to have a different opinion as to what is good, as compared to popular opinion.

Another random questions about what to make, I thought I would continue this thread, rather than cluttering up the message board.

What are the name of the "boots" that leave the "puddles?" I think I have seen three versions of "puddles," light, dark and flowerish.

Oh, thank you for the reply. I am up for a nice pair of fancy boots, but have no interest in a legendary.

Speaking of the legendary "footprints", do those appear for any character that you apply the skin to, or just for the original weapon?

@Sekk -- That's a good question. I don't have one to test it, but I found a recent thread (3 months old) on the GW2 forums that suggests that all the weapon effects - including the footprints - are included in the skin (caveat: the person stating that is a player rather than a dev). One of our guild crafters can probably confirm though.

Just an FYI, @Leslie, you had mentioned Mangos are hard to find.  You can buy mangos in bulk for karma from Agent Crandle at Fort Trinity.  I always check karma merchants for bulk items, just to see what they have. :)

I really enjoyed going for Mawdrey.   There's a bit of work to gather all the pieces, but it felt like a real accomplishment when I'd completed it.  An ascended back piece and an item that gobbles up your excess bloodstone dust and spits out loot bags is fun too!

@Cyrexae, lol now you tell me after I forged the Peach Pies:) I was wondering where I got those mangos in my bank^^. Well, a few more extra dungeons and I will make those next, ty! I also like the trays of peach tarts - 26% magic find and +50 power is great for dungeons and karma runs anywhere - I find I get more rares & exotics when I pop it for us. I know the omnom is 30% but I never seem to have time to farm Orr any more & peaches are karma bulk too^.^.
