raidcall

seems to be down again

Seems raidcall is starting to become more trouble then its worth imo. Its constantly going down and quite frankly we never exceed the amount of people that would justify needing to have the capabilites of 200+ online at one time. I never see anymore then 40 or so people on at any given time in 1101 or 5012. I kept the vent I used for swtor and tsw that family memebers used open and have been using it more then I really should have too lately. I understand the idea of trying a new service especially one that is willing to work woth the guild so well. But I think might be better to wait until they get there act together alittle more. I know vent and teamspeak had there issues also but they never caused as many issues for family as raidcall has not even close.

They tweeted and facebooked about doing upgrades today last night. Might be down a few hours.

We had just as many issues with typefrag. This was scheduled hardware upgrade. Were staying with raidcall. For the record we break 100 weekly on raidcall. Raidcall does a lot we could never do on vent.

It's back online

looks like some people are logged in but others are getting jammed in the login server. Give it a few minutes. Think they might be having doorway at walmart on black friday issues.

Its a kind gesture for people to offer their personal voice servers for use by the guild they're playing with, but its not practical, or reliable, for any guild to use a member's personal services, be it voice or website. Think about it. Raidcall works just fine, no more unreliable than any other voice service I've used, and Fog has a good working relationship with them. Most importantly, he has complete control over his accounts, as a guild leader should have. Members come and go, but guilds stay with their leaders (the good ones).

I've enjoyed Raidcall. Though I've been off it for a week or so. Busy with life. :)

New to Raidcall but, so far, very impressed with it (and as I researched the downtime myself, understood what was happening). Color me all for new learning opportunities! (2nd Sekkerhund's notion of personal servers for guild support, particularly LARGE guild support.)
