With our new public community event series on the horizon i've decided to break into the live streaming world and create a Gaiscioch Family twitch.tv channel. I will be trying to broadcast these during our Tyrian Campaign event and the future Chronicles of Tyria.

Hey Fog, I know that there are a few family members that also stream. I was wondering if you were considering making a "team" on twitch in the future. Basically it is a page that lists the member's streams and whether they are online. As far as I can tell it is still in beta and only open to partners (people with high amounts of viewers). Considering the amount of contacts you have and Gaiscioch's reputation, that you might be an exception if you are interested. I think that it would be fun for members to be able to see what another chapter is up to, or just see what other games members might be playing.
I'd have to figure out how to do such things. Also trying to figure out if theres a way to feed delay. Don't want to broadcast WvW unless theres a delay.

How do I add a delay to my stream (to prevent cheating, etc)
This is currently only available to partners on a case-by-case basis. Contact your partnership handler and ask them about it.
As for third-party solutions, if you have XSplit you can use the Delay Server feature to add a delay to your stream, see here.

Good to know about the delay, wanted to stream ever since the game released, but I don't think I have the CPU power to handle streaming and WvW, I drop to "Best Performance" as it is, just to make sure that culling is the only "lag" that I have to deal with. Speaking of delays, I think that for WvW, I'd delay for the time that it takes to run from one side of map to the other. That's just me, although folks might get by with half a map's run worth of delay time.
Feed delay is pretty common with streamers playing League of Legends, so I'm sure what Radio posted should help :)

There are currently 3 ways to delay a stream: 1. Use Own3d.tv instead of Twitch. Own3d has a built in option to have a 60 second delay. 2. Use Xsplit Premium - Licenses cost 24.95 - 149.95 for subscriptions between 4 - 54 months. You can also buy multiple licences (6 for 1 year = 299.95) 3. Become partnered with Twitch.tv. Usually, you need high viewership to become partnered. However, with the sheer size of Gaiscioch and the connections with Raidcall (who already have a few teams on Twitch.tv), a partnership is possible. Xfire seems to add a 30 second delay for me. Not looking to drop a ton of money into it. Ive broadcasted 2 club gaiscioch so far and it hasnt even phased my system. This should be able to handle the event without a problem.
Fog: Is Xfire what you're using to record and stream to Twitch?
yup :). XFire has built in streaming and plugs directly into Twitch.tv/Justin.tv I don't even notice it running and it gives me a heads up display to who's watching.
Mmmm, that's nice to know. I have an older CPU that runs things well enough for my tastes, but I was worried that FRAPS or other streaming apps would push it over the edge.
Fraps eats my computer alive. Xfire I barely know is running. Downside of XFire is they use their own codec so you have to convert each video before using it. Doesn't effect streaming though.
That's not a problem, I have conversion software, also use the Shark007 codec package. Which reminds me, does Xfire capture your/our Raidcall chatter? Do you comment for the viewers? On an semi-related note, what do you use to stream DJ music for Raidcall, is the foo.exe they example, or something else?
