Perhaps I have been watching too many mmorpg-related animes, but I find this concept interesting...impossible, yet interesting. Also, feel free to use ESO or GW2, or any other mmorpg as the basis behind my question. Or, multiple if you feel like it.

One night after logging off from the game, you go to sleep for a peaceful nights sleep. Upon awaking the next morning, you find that you are now the main character you play in your favorite mmo. You can no longer log out, dying may or may not be permanent, since who exactly wants to be the first to beta test that. So, what do you do? I'll go first...

In either ESO or GW2, I would be my character Cain Demonsbane who is an altmer sorcerer in ESO and a Nord Warrior in GW2. In either scenario, I believe, I would first try to get into contact with guild mates (after I get done freaking out that I have gone insane of course) and put our collective heads together to come up with a game plan. Should we maintain status quo and survive or should we attempt to beat the game and potentially find a way out? I'm not even going to kid myself, I'd aim at survival first. Unless of course someone does prove that death wasn't permanent which would lead to me seeking the end of the game and a way out. Regardless of the scenario, I would attempt to help out wherever I could, but being realistic (a stretch, I know) I wouldn't stick my neck out until it was established what that world's "rules" were. No matter what though, if I ever made it out, I'd never think of touching a game again...

I'm just bored and curious, answer if you like or however you like.

To be realistic... I'd find a tavern with good food, and better ale!

Assuming it actually tastes like food or ale instead of what a computer simulation decided it should taste like. Everything could be flavorless or inedible altogether. :)

I would find out if my muscles were 'hardwired' to use certain weapons... and, if not, I would be looking for one or more weapons to equip that I could actually use (rapier, katana or recurve bow).  Then I would be off for some practice!
