Céad Míle Fáilte!

Welcome to GSCH
a Legacy Chapter of the Gaiscioch family

First and foremost let me welcome you to our humble community. Within the ranks of GSCH you will find many event leaders who provide us with daily adventures and events. GSCH is the small to medium sized community branch of the Gaiscioch family.  Our focus is on creating a tight nit group of like minded individuals to explore the content of Elder Scrolls Online.

Through our experience we have come to know and love the smaller scale content of Elder Scrolls Online including Raiding, Dungeons, Zone Clears, and even some AvA. We take an open and friendly approach toward gaming. As a Legacy Chapter, GSCH gains the full support of the Gaiscioch Social Gaming Community and acts as one of the roots of our family tree. By becoming a member of GSCH you will be joining our larger parent Gaiscioch and began gaining ranks, earning vault credits, and gaining accolades. All of these transfer over with you for the life of your Gaiscioch membership regardless of the games we play.

All members are welcome to be a part of any community, and are encouraged to persue that which interests them. A smile on your face is more important than a tag above your head.

What is a Legacy Chapter?

Legacy Chapters have a historical significance within the Gaiscioch Social Gaming Community. They began as full chapters, but over time we decided to focus on smaller activities. As our main brand Gaiscioch is focused entirely on creating massive large scale community events, GSCH is focused on smaller scale activities and strive to make a more intimate community that the players who enjoy playing Elder Scrolls Online can come to enjoy. Legacy chapters retain the full support of the Gaiscioch website and community and maintain their historical significance in our family's history.

Part of The Gaiscioch Family

The Gaiscíoch (pronounced Gosh-Kia) Social Gaming & Athletics Community began on November 11th 2001 in the industry pioneering MMORPG "Dark Age of Camelot". They began on the Nimue roleplaying server as an inclusive community focused on creating a fun and enjoyable environment for players of all ages and skill levels.

The Gaiscíoch takes it's name from an Irish legend found within the "Lebor Gabála Érenn"  and "Cath Maige Tuired"  which chronicle the first people of Ireland, the Tuatha de Danann. Specifically the First Battle of Moyturna where the Tuatha de Danann hand picked the most honorable and loyal warriors to fight alongside the Celtic Gods in a battle against the Fir Bolg. These warriors were known as the Gaiscíoch.

With their roots firmly attached in the Celtic Mythological Cycle, the Gaiscíoch hold honor, respect, integrity, and fellowship, over hierarchy and dictatorship. Today the Gaiscíoch span many games, sports, and social circles.

The Gaiscioch are a global casual social gaming community with a relaxed approach toward gaming. They allow their members to play how they want, when they want, as long as they want and do not constrict them with quotas or requirements.

The overall focus of the Gaiscioch is to support the server communities and real world communities they are part of. They accomplish this by hosting public community events, participating and hosting community forums, interacting with game developers, and providing new players information through our in-game advisers and out-of-game guides, maps, and videos.

With a strong focus on community our endgame goal is to create memories, friendships, and participate in the overall success of the community. It is through gaming, athletic competition, and social interaction that we forge new friendships and relationships.

Chapter 5: Elder Scrolls Online Details:

  • Guild Name: GSCH
  • Faction: Ebonheart Pact - However, we encourage members to play on other factions as well to see all aspects of the game world. Players are welcome to play what they like however primary family events will be exclusively on the Ebonheart Pact.
  • Communication: GameVox - Download Here
  • Region: Global / English - We have a global audience however we are exclusively English speaking.
  • Motto: "Play how you want, When you want, As long as you want!"
  • Elder Team: Foghladha, Verve, Pops, Seacoral, Cait, Twilah, Kiltedpiper
  • Average Member Age: 36
  • Wisest Member: 92
  • Bottomline: We are real people with real lives who have bonded together through gaming.  We have shared in victories, seen careers launch, seen couples be wed, babies be born, sent soldiers to war, remembered our fallen members, have fought and defeated cancer together, and continue to be the rock we all lean upon when life calls. We celebrate life together both in game and out.

If you're looking for a Guild... there are thousands.
If you're looking for a family, search no further.

Rules & Etiquette :

  • Rule #1: Blades Out, Not In - We do not allow trolling, infighting, or any type of fighting amongst ourselves. Because of this we ask people to refrain from controversial topics such as religion and politics so that we may have a peaceful community that is safe for all ages and walks of life.

Guild & Voice Communication

The Gaiscioch Family is a world wide social gaming community which provides a family friendly environment for players of all ages to enjoy the games we play. To respect our family's' little eyes and ears we ask that all members keep public discussion in guild channels, alliance channels, public chat channels, and in voice services PG at all times. We have however made special adults only, mature, or pub channels for respectful adult conversation available in Discord. Be respectful and don't teach our little Gaiscioch Jr's a new vocabulary. Feel free to join us on Discord by visiting: http://gsch.info/voice

Multi-Guild Membership

The Gaiscioch Family highly encourages it's members to participate in other guilds and their activities. Our family is community based and that reaches beyond our own circle. Any member that wants to place an alt in another guild or take their main into another guild will retain their membership and rank regardless of how long they are away. Once a member of the family always a member of the family unless they have been banished from the family. We have a strong belief that player satisfaction is more important than the tag above your head.

Family Management & Organization

Joining the Family

So you're interested in Joining? This is wonderful news! You will find we're a pretty friendly bunch who hold friendships above loot. We would love to send you an invite here and now however we want to make sure that GSCH is right for you. We are not the guild for all, we are the family for many. Your enjoyment in Elder Scrolls Online is more valuable to us than what tag you wear above your head. Before we invite you please look over: Joining the Family Section and make sure that GSCH is right for you. Your enjoyment is the most important thing to think about right now. If it is something you think you would enjoy just "Request to Join" and we will provide you with instructions on how to get started.

 Becoming a Member

After you have requested to join you will be given a "Secret Word" which you can use to complete the "Member Registration". Once you have created your account login using the information you chose.

Getting an in game invite

Once you have registered be sure to fill out your Elder Scrolls Online Profile. You will need to locate your ESO ID. Once you have filled in your profile correctly our eldership team will process your invite request in the order they came in. Please be patient it may take up to 24-hours for your invite to be processed. You will know that you have an invite when a notification pops up in the bottom left next to your chat window. You can press "n" to open your notification pane and then accept your invite. [See Example]

Family Systems & Structure

In this section I will be covering our family structure and systems as it pertains to our Elder Scrolls Online chapter. For a general overview of our family structure and systems please visit:
http://www.gaiscioch.com/about/member_information.html

Claiming Leadership & Running Events

I have revamped the Leadership system to be picture based. You will be able to lead and schedule events at Lorgair rank. To claim leadership for an event you must have a total of 3 Tuatha or GSCH/Gaiscioch members to claim participation.

The Marketplace

Members of GSCH have full access to the Gaiscioch Marketplace, a system where members can request materials and items in exchange for Family Vault Credits that are earned through participating in events. The more you participate the more items you can order. Simply head to the marketplace or use the item search above and choose the item you would like to order. Place the order and within a few hours to a few days your order will be mailed back to you in game.

Learn more about our marketplace system at:
http://www.gaiscioch.com/tavern/family_guides/post_16261.html

Guild Store

The Guild Store is mostly internal, however if a keep or resource is claimed, anyone in the world can shop at that store. It is advised that you list items at a price you would like to sell and not a price that you would offer a family member privately. Items in the Guild Store should NOT be used for personal gain. Do not buy low and sell high in our family store.

Need Contribution?

Be sure to keep an eye on the Marketplace to fill requests for materials and crafted items. This is the easiest way to generate contribution. Additionally you can participate in our charity events to earn even more contribution.

glad we are choosing three campaigns, one for each alliance people play in allowing for people to be able to group up in any alliance and not wind up fighting against family.  Figured this would be how it had to be, but glad to see it confirmed.  =)

Go for 'G' rated. I dare you! =D Your words carry far more weight and power than you will ever know. Never expect people to take them the same way either.

Don't mess with the Mama Bear or her cubs (aka this family). =D

Greetings Fam!

New member here. I've spent the last few hours exploring this website and reading posts on these forums and I'm so excited to be a part of this community. I wish I had heard about it a long time ago and maybe I would have stuck with GW2 longer than I did.

Anyway, extremely excited for ESO and can't wait to play with some of you! Thanks for this post as it was informative and reinforced the qualities I'll bring into game to represent this family!

Looks like Im rolling a Nord!

Cheers

Elizabeth, to explain campaigns I'll give you a little bit of background first.

Player-vs-Player combat in ESO is called Alliance-vs-Alliance (AvA) and is a very large-scale endeavor, sort of like WvW in GW2. ESO will have 3 different alliances. Those players who are in the same alliance as you are will work with you against the other two alliances.

However, since ESO will have only one server, not everyone will 'fit' on one map. To solve this problem, ESO will have multiple instances of the AvA area (which is called Cyrodil), in which a limited number of players (which is actually several hundred) from each alliance will fight over objectives. Each of these instances is called a campaign.

Once the game releases, you will be able to open up the AvA window in game and select a campaign to join. You can expect to see over 100 different campaigns in that list within a few days of launch.

As Fog has said, Gaiscioch will be waiting a few days after release to select a campaign for us to join as a family on the EP side.

I hope this answers your question!

Hello folks,

I became a new member earlier today and have spent the day going over the web site, viewing videos, and setting up RaidCall. I'm very happy to be here and look forward to meeting you all in The Elder Scrolls Online.

My wife will be applying for membership in about a week, after we get her computer set up.

We both have been in EverQuest and Vanguard for over a decade and have never participated in PvP but we're looking forward to learning all about the world of Tamriel with all of you.

Thank you, to all of you who make The Gaiscioch Family the warm inviting community that you are.

Happy hunting and safe adventures,

So I have another question: Will the guild be account based or character based. The reason I ask is I am really digging the AD story line and I would like to run a char in both alliances.  If I am on my AD toon will I still be able to see chat and event announcements?

Thanks!!

I finally decided to give ESO a try and pre-purchased the digital Imperial edition and created my on-line account. According to Gaiscioch ESO sign-ups, I should be able to log-on and press "O" to bring up contacts to get a contact ID. I can't seem to find anything like that anywhere on my ESO account (Website). Is it only something that is available from the game client? If not, can someone help me out with a bit more information on how to create and submit my contact ID? Thanks.

Also, if I have my information correct, if you are in the guild from a different faction you won't be able to pvp in the guilds home campaign. At least that's what it sounded like to me when I was watching the pod cast that was describing it a little bit.

I just changed my username however.  Koigan was a Dwarf in Warhammer Online,  afraid that wont be very fitting for Tamriel.  @Kiryn43 is my account name in ESO.

Anyone know if even tho im on AD i can still join the guild or do i need to be in the same alliance? cause i have some friend that gona play on AD ;c

You can still join the guild.  There will be a guild set up for each alliance.  The main family events will be held on the EP server, so you would need a toon on that alliance in order to participate (which is NOT required).  So you can set up on AD and join your friend and join the Gaiscioch guild on the AD server!

I guess the big unknown at this point is exactly how many are going to be a part of the other two alliances and how that will impact AvA.

* Gaiscioch will ONLY be Ebonheart Pact

We have Tuatha Guilds (Non-Gaiscioch Related) who have been part of our extended alliance for Years, over several games that will be exploring those other alliances. They are not Gaiscioch, they are independant guilds with their own websites and own voice communication tools.

If you are in Gaiscioch and decide to play on one of the other 2 factions you will be with us in spirit (guild chat) but will not be able to participate in anything we are doing. If multiple members choose to play on another faction your welcome to claim leadership & participation together on those other factions however there will be NO SUPPORT for special events or tools for those other factions.

Our eldership will be entirely devoted towards nourishing and operating the Ebonheart Pact side. We will not be devoting time to the other 2 factions. In a perfect world this would not be the case but we will have our hands fun just running the 1 faction and keeping Guild Wars 2 going at the same time. Running all 3 factions would be like running 3 different games at the same time. Theres just not enough of our attention to go around. We don't want people feeling like the "unloved child" or any of that dramatic stuff.

So from the get go we are putting this disclaimer out there. If you play Aldermeri or Daggerfall you will be on your own and only be supported by others who chose to play those factions. There may come a day when players who are not playing Ebonheart primarily will not have access to the Main room of the house due to size restrictions as well. We highly recommend everyone creating 1 Ebonheart Pact character so that they can participate with the family. Don't worry about the quest lines, we will likely have events to help members get ahead without grinding quests.

Yes. After you hit veteran ranks you play through those storylines anyway. Technically if you dont like ebonheart story you should do it first. Second quest takes longer than first and third takes longer than second. Your first campaign is the one youll spend the least time in.

Is switching campaigns expensive?  This will obviously limit recruitment eligibility after release.  I joined Gaiscioch shortly after GW2's release because I saw GSCH tags everywhere on every map.  It will be like that in early days of TESO, and there will probably be a lot of applications from Pact members spread across all three campaigns.

It was mentioned in another post but just for the sake of continuity; they've drastically lowered the AP cost of changing campaigns and allowed us to change campaigns every 24 hours for launch so it shouldn't be too tough to switch over to GSCH's campaign once Fog finds us a good one.  (If anyone's having trouble with getting the AP to change I'm sure we can make a group of 'helpers' to get them out :P

GSCH 'could' even go back to their plans of waiting a bit before choosing a home campaign that'll fit everyone and give us a good fight. :)

I do wonder how long they will leave this reduced cost of changing in though...

Guys, There's a simple solution. Guest until the official campaign is announced. It's not that difficult and we don't need to waste AP. Remember campaigns are 90 days. You're not going to be invested in a campaign in 5. All those rewards you would be missing out are not even going to be awarded in the 5 days it takes us to see where things shape up.

I need you all to wait before declaring your home campaign. If everyone does there own thing it will be very time consuming to get us all together again and the whole point of having a united front is to get people into AvA with us when the time comes. If everyone is off doing their own thing it's going to make for a terrible AvA experience for the family as a whole.

We need to be organized and patient on our approach. He who rushes into battle hastefully, greets his maker first. Just WAIT until we declare before rushing in to declare home.

"It's not the loot and accolades you walk away with,
it’s the memories and friendships that you cherish forever."

Really as Fog has said - 5 days is not long too wait... even if you don't like PvE give ESO's a try - and work through some of the story just for the lore.  If you really can't wait just be a "guest" during that first week and get to know the lay of the land then when Fog makes the announcement you will be all that much more prepared to help out our "home".  It is going to be a low pop Campaign for EP so getting "our AvA on" will be all that more great for us - and we'll have a blast.

The path walked with Patience is the wisest path to take in this case - so please follow her; be patient and guide others along the same path.

On another note - barring unforeseen circumstances I should be in game at launch time - 4 a.m. PST and available for questions/answers in zone chat and once the guild is up - in guild chat - and also RC.

Safe Journ all,

I like the idea of waiting. Those first 5 days are really better used for getting to know your character race, class, skills, etc. In order to truly be effective you should spend a bit of time doing solo and group world content. This way you can see how your character works and get a feel for group synergy. Some of us have been in the betas, but not all of us. Any changes made after they shut down the last beta will be in launch. It is important to play it a little bit before we jump into AvA...

While PvE content is a little different from AvA because of the AI vs HI, PvE grouping will serve you better than just jumping into AvA and doing whatever with random people. You are going to be building skills outside of AvA with a multitude of people that you will most likely be doing AvA content with.  I think this is important to do as a community. You will build the confidence in each other and as a team. That is going to be more important in AvA than rushing in and trying to be the first Emperor.

Club Gaiscioch is always late, but other events are normally closer to 8-9ish pm est, but all event times are scheduled in pst.

Public events that Fog and them normally hold are open for everyone, but many events are created outside the public server wide events and are created by regular members.  After a week or so, you will reach the rank of Lorgair and can create your own events.

Don't think of core rooms as separate guilds. I lead all of them with my 20 elders. It's merely there because of the confines of the game. The game wont allow all of us to be in 1 guild together. So we built 5. 4 to hold everyone thats played in the last 45 days and 1 to hold everyone who's played the last 14 days.

We are all 1 family. We don't plan separate activities, we don't have separate rankings, we are all 1. It's the same house just different rooms because you can't fit 1500 people into a single 500 person max capacity room :). And  you surely can't invite guests over.

These two servers are not linked together. My question is if the guild is going to be US or EU based. I didn't seem to be able to find this information on the website.

I think the key for everyone should be to focus on getting your characters leveled to 10 so you will be ready for AvA.  Take your time to enjoy the game beginnings. There is soo much to explore and find in the beginning areas.  This is where you will be able to establish your crafting beginnings, if that is what you desire.  Remember that the starting/tutorial area has a lot of urns, boxes and chests that contain some great beginnings.  Lockpicks abound in the beginning containers. I got over 45 the last character I created in Beta testing.  That along with lots of provisioning crafting items. Will see everyone tomorrow morning at zero dark thirty!

I finally told my wife (with her 1 single toon...bahh!..lol)  go ahead without me cause I'll never be able to focus on a single character long enough to keep up with her.

I'll get to level 10 on one of them eventually and we can all go play ava.

Now I'm a week into ESO and loving it - fortunately my first chosen 'main' is in Ebonheart Pact which aligns perfectly with the clan. Being an altoholic though I will have toons in other alliances.

I don't PvP so the campaign restriction doesn't really impact me.

I'm already in a small friends-and-family guild in ESO but am looking forward to having Gaiscioch as my /guild2. :) Currently playing "Ida Know" a level 21 templar tank/dps switch.

If you want any advice for the Daggerfall campaign, i've heard Bloodthorn is pretty balanced among all 3 factions and not too filled up.

Edit: Nevermind, just checked it's almost filled :O

So far leaning Wabbajack.  Vigilance is deciding this weekend with several other guilds we know and love but preliminary results show favor for Wabbajack.

I'd love to be part of the Armory room, however no one ever posts requests up for crafting anything (not that I've seen) so I never get any points for that.  I'm actually researching some of my final items over the next month, and will have everything in Blacksmithing, Clothing and Woodworking researched by next month's end.

Guess that's the penalty for being a N00B.  :-/

Work orders don't stay up there for long last month we filled over 2000 of them. They appear but the average turn around is between 15 and 30 minutes. Just gotta keep an eye on it. This just shows the importance of everyone using it.

The Marketplace is awesome, and I love the way the point system works across it.  I have found orders, but agree with Foghladha, you gotta be quick.  The guild is pretty good at using it even in game.  Often someone will request in guild chat for an item, and then let me know when to check the Marketplace to claim it and deliver it.  That is very helpful!  I was able to get all my traits researched, almost exclusively using the Marketplace.  So keep your eyes open.  Now, I have not seen a lot of requests for crafted sets yet.  I hope that will come as more people get up to VR ranks.  I love the idea that there will be a separate store for us to sell to the public, still allowing the main guild store for "selling" or providing items to guildies.  Thanks Gaiscioch and Fog.

Under the section What to do if you need a Re invite. I think their is a small mistake somewhat ? Current it says

"Under "Command Center" look for the "Guild Wars 2" section. "

Should it not  be " Under " command center "look for the Elder scrolls online " Section ? "

just thought i point that out since it seems like a small mistake, I could be wrong but I believe its a mistake :)

Hello all,

Looks like I've been invited back for the great beta testers weekend! How nice it will be to running through the lands of Tamriel once again. BUT! This time with my Gaiscioch family and friends!

I know I'm quite and I solo almost all the time and that's why most of you don't know me. But I'll try to come into chat and say hi now and then. I'm Malayla, Dawn Firestarter, Grannys Gottsagun just to name a few that I have in the family at GW2.

I'm downloading now and I don't remember the names of my toons or if I have to create a new one... but I'll see you there!
