For years we've kept 1 Elder per active 100 people. As our population has reduced since we began playing games that limit population we've decided to up this to 1 Elder per 50 people. This gives us more coverage per elder and keeps our current elder team intact.
Additionally I have decided to add some focus to our eldership team. I have outlined several focuses where Elders can help keep the family running smoothly and relieve some of the burden from the select few who have been trying to carry the whole thing. The various roles include but are not limited to:
These new focused roles will allow us to spread the load across all of the elders and ensure that each elder is contributing to the overall success of the family. I will be building out some tools to help each of these roles streamline processes and gain the ability to help me keep things updated and current. In preparation for these new systems we decided to bring on 2 new elders with specific specializations.
I wanted to take a moment to say congratulations to a few members this month for accepting their next credo and stepping into a new role in our family.
The War Council is comprised of members who have stepped up to lead events and activities for the family. They have proven themselves on the battlefield and have collected 25 signatures of approval from their followers. They have accepted the Mark of Service credo and understand that Leadership is not a position of power, it is a position of service. They have committed themselves to hosting fun and friendly events for the community at large.

The Gaiscioch Family officers act as a front line for questions and answers. These members have accepted the Mark of the Protector credo and have vowed to assist new members with familiarization and report any suspicious or unbecoming behavior to the eldership team.

Veteran Members have proven their devotion to the family by participating in events and contributing to the family's success. They have been active more than 90 days and have continued to be contributing members to the family.
» Alphazuma » Asharei » Jjrdragon » Klove » Krevdar » Lionann » Namrie » Winterlight
Official Members have earned the rank of Lorgair and have accepted the Mark of the Kindred credo. They have officially decided to become members of the family and start their journey to ascend the roles of the Gaiscioch Family.

Yes, Raiding in Guild Wars 2 was being discussed on the official forums since a little over a year ago. Tidbits of teaser information has lead us to believe the big Raid word is about to drop this weekend. Be sure to tune in Saturday, August 29, at 10:30 a.m. Pacific Time for a special livestream presentation as ArenaNet reveals "Challenging Group Content" that will define your endgame experience in the expansion.

This week marks the one conference a year where ArenaNet has home field advantage. Over history this is a very big conference for them. I would not be surprised to see a date drop at PAX Prime.

This month we'll be welcoming JayRF and GmaFog/Humble Misty to the Family Commander lineup. There are several up and coming commanders we plan to work with in the future and we'll likely see a couple more added next month. Both JayRF and GmaFog have been hosting events open to the public for our family and have acted as a Gaiscioch Commander should. As always our commanders are hand picked based on leadership ability, compassion, and most importantly patience. These two have shown these traits in bulk over the past few months and we are proud to welcome them to the team.
Please welcome our newest members to our Guild Wars 2 family.

Here comes the Imperial City! The moment we've been waiting for, for quite a while, is finally here. My Thursday events will likely focus on getting us inside and exploring the depths of the Imperial City. Looking forward to sharing those adventures with you.
Rumors travel fast, so I wanted to take a moment to set some of your minds at ease. Yes, we are below 250 members, and yes it's going to get increasingly more difficult to keep the members we have as it will be harder to find groups, tougher to connect with the few that still play, and even more difficult to make an impact in the world on a public level. That said, there are no plans to close the Elder Scrolls Online branch at this time.
The horizon looks bleak for new chapter potentials. Nothing is even remotely close to being ready to go live and certainly nothing available has the demand we currently have for Elder Scrolls Online. I have faith that through the fall and winter we will see those numbers climb back over the 250 mark just like it did previously. This is not the first time we dropped below 250.
We will not close the ESO chapter unless there is something else drawing more of our members attention and has cleared our rigorous evaluation process. At the soonest you're looking at late 2016 early 2017. Which means we have a whole year ahead of ourselves to see where ESO goes.
I am confident that my eldership team, commanders, and community that has brought ESO alive will keep this going for the next year. Yes, the game is struggling, but the community is tight knit and there is more kindness floating around our ESO chapter than any group i've ever had the pleasure of being a part of.
There is no reason to close this chapter just yet, and I will not act too hastily when I know outright regardless of what game we play, the months of May - September always go down in population. Pulling the cord now would be premature and unfair to the people who had to stop playing over the summer. We will do what we can to keep this ball rolling forward for as long as the audience wants us to.
I believe we will see a rise in population come October. As people return from their summer vacations and kids go back to school our rooms will fill once again. There's no need to panic just yet :).
Please welcome our newest members to our Elder Scrolls Online family.

In Issue 6, Gaiscioch Magazine takes on the toughest foe we as humans ever face: Ourselves. In this Person vs Self focused issue we take a trip down the spiritual and psychological side of gaming. Learning to conquer yourself and take control of your emotions can better your lives in many ways both in game and out.
In addition, we ask a few strangers from a wide variety of ways of life to share their perspective on this struggle. We feature one of the most renowned cosplayers, Sarah Cain, who shares her experiences with stepping into the world of cosplay. We also talk with Staci Brooke, a uniquely gifted life coach who helps people past major roadblocks they place in front of themselves. Gaiscioch Activities Lead, Foghladha shares some tricks for event leaders to master their own mind and control the mental state of their followers.
On the gaming side, Issue 6 features exclusive interviews from the teams behind Echo of Soul, Camelot Unchained and Land of Britain. We will also take a first look at Just Cause 3, Skyforge and Gigantic, and just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, we also proudly feature several fan favorite short stories, recipes, and life lessons giving you the complete picture when it comes to the lives of gamers.
