How-To Use The Leadership Console

By: Foghladha

Leadership Console Overview

So you've become a Saighdear and your looking to run your first event. There are some things you should know about the Leadership console before you get to work. First Lets outline when you should use this and when you shouldn't.

Reasons To Use:

  • Your "Leading" A Organized Raid With 3 or More Family Members.
  • You've organized a family event and need to track its progress
  • The Objective was successful.

Do Not Use For:

  • Participating in someone else's raid
  • Walking into the tail half of someone else's raid
  • You're leading less than 3 family members. As a general rule only add targets when you advertise that you are leading a war effort to the family and more than 3 family members participate.
  • The Objective was a failure.

Now that we've outlined that part lets break down some more Terminology

Defense:

A defense is defined as "Defending a Keep, Castle, Citadel, Fortress, or City from the time the door drops to the time the door repairs itself. A successful defense requires that a force is amassed at a size which can drop the outer door and pose a viable threat." In other words, a single Destruction force pinging a keep is not considered a defense nor is a warband hitting the keep realizing its defended and fleeing. Defenses should take 15 or more minutes and result in the target returning to its natural un-pinged state. The door must be broken for the defense to count.

Leadership:

To be awarded valor points you must be leading the raid. This does not include you leading a single warband in a multi-warband raid lead by someone else. You must be the point man/woman and be giving the orders.

Now that we have defined those two variables lets take a look at the Leadership Console.

There are 4 Columns you will need to pay attention to; Date, Mode, Target, and Event. Lets examine each of these closer:

Date:

By default the date is a timestamp of when the record was created, however sometimes you will want to click the checkbox "Override Auto Time With:" so that you can back date targets in the system. For example if you document the times on a notepad and enter them after the raid is over you will want to enable the override to backdate your targets. If you are Alt+Tabbing or using a second PC you can just leave this unchecked when putting in new targets.

Mode:

Attack Mode is when your raid has successfully taken a target. For example if you Siege Spite's and it was successful this would be marked as an Attack. Defend Mode is used for when you have successfully defended a target. See above under Terminology for more on Defense.

Target:

This is the Battlefield Objective, Keep, Castle, Citadel, Fortress, City, Lair, Dungeon, Public Quest, or Event. You will select a target from the drop down. They are organized by Tier then by Type. For more on events see "How to create an new event".

Event:

You will use this drop down to connect targets to events you will create. Simply choose the event from the drop down which you wish to connect the target to. For more on events see "How to create an new event".

How-To Create A New Event

First there are 2 parts to creating a new event. Each one depends on whether the event in question is already in the system. First and foremost for a event to be considered an event it should be entered into the family calendar in game and on the website at: Create New Event.

Event Does Not Exists:

To create a new event use the "Create A New Target:" function at the bottom of the leadership console.

Under Tier you will select which tier this event pertains too. If its doesn't have a tier requirement like an Altdorf raid then leave it at 0. Next under zone select the zone if it is limited to 1 zone as to where this event will take place. For oRvR raids leave this on other as it will span many zones. Under type select "Scheduled Event". Next under Title, enter the name of your event. Next click the save icon. Now your event should be in the system and you will be able to select it under the Target drop down in the create a target form above.

Event Exists:

To create the event record simple set the Start Time in the Date field click Override, then leave mode to Attack as it wont matter, Under Target find your event which will be under the tier you chose when you created it, then lastly leave "Event" BLANK. Do not select anything. Now save it and you will see a new Family Event record in your list. You can now choose that event from the "Event" drop down for each target you capture or defend in your event.
