The Quiet Mage

Marmar, a nickname for Mariam Maracken, came from a skilled Elven family of mages and clerics. With their village not being all that far from the Mirror of Ages, the care and service to the many spirits of the land was important to her. But she rarely had the chance to learn how vitally important those spirits were.
Marmar is the younger sister to her elder sibling, Shesa. Marmar was often in the shadow of her cleric sister who had endured and fought much prior to following the High priestess into war against Aedraxis. She didn't care for the matters of men nor for her sister; only bitterly believing that the forest was what all elves should focus on.
When the Ward was shattered, rifts from the Plane of fire burst forth throughout the forests she loved so dearly. Marmar fought hard to defend the village and the paths to the most sacred of sites for the Elves...but she was unskilled. Goblins and horrid demons left nothing but embers. She, along with the rest of the family and villagers were lost in the blaze. Her story should have ended there.
The Vigil sought to have Marmar redeem herself. She must learn to cherish that which could be lost in a heartbeat. She must learn to rely on others and accept aid in return. She must become the unselfish Elf her lost family could be proud of.
